Is there a Way to keep my account, port my existing number out and get a new number?

I want to move my current number to another provider but also keep my public account and get a new phone number, and keep my reward level. Is this possible?

You'd need a triangle number swap where a rep would need to create a third/temp line to move the numbers around. It's technically possible, but it'll never happen.

Indeed @dabr , thank you for that additional valuable information.

For all intents and purposes, it is (mostly)  irretrievable by the original user though, which was more the point I was trying to make but your additional details are certainly more detailed

🙂

@HALIMACS   Just a small correction regarding what happens if the number is changed...while the number does go back to the original issuer (carrier) of the number, it will not be placed immediately in any "available pool" of numbers for at least 60 days (perhaps even 90 days) after being changed.

I believe it's held for a set number of minimum days to ensure the person who has held it last will have time to notify all contacts of the change, business or personal, and also stopping the new owner of that number from receiving unwanted calls/messages, some of which might be a personal security concern if from banks or credit card companies.

@Jay604

One option is to get a burner phone for the PM account with the PM SIM and get a new phone and account/SIM with the other carrier.

Regrettably, @Jay604 , that is not possible.

AS SOON AS your number is ported out, the account immediately (and irreversibly) closes.

And changing your number here with the hopes the existing one can be moved out won't work either - as soon as you change it, the prior one get's placed back into the 'pool' of available numbers with the provider to whom the number was originally assigned from.

Sorry for the bad news.
