Is the account active before recieving the SIM card?

When I subsribe and paid for the $34 plan (Canada-US 5G 50 GB) with the physical SIM card, is the account active right away or only when I install the SIM card?

@AW124  Once you get the SIM card you have to download the app to activate the sim and your plan will start then and be billed every 30 day after that
