I am wondering how I can add to my plan so I am able to text and use data while I am in the U.K. I am from Canada

no roaming server in UK.  if you need to recevie 2FA code form Canadian bank, there is no way to get it via SMS while you are in UK.  But call the bank and see what they can do to help

You can make calls for free back to Canada using VoIP app TextNow.  Download it , set up with a new 10 digits number and you can call (and text) for free using the app on the new phone number

You will not be able to text from your Public Mobile phone number while outside of Canada and the United States.

You will have to get a travel eSIM or use apps like Textnow, WhatsApp etc.
