I will be travelling internationally and was wondering if I could still receive incoming text messages without having a roaming plan.

@Xoxict , it is possible to use RCS when travelling internationally. RCS works on WiFi or mobile data. Unfortunately bank 2FA does not use RCS.

Except for traveling to the USA, Public mobile customers will not be able to receive 2FA texts or any incoming texts while traveling abroad. That is one big disadvantage for PM customers unfortunately.

you can't if you are not just going to US
you really need to arrange for different way to receive 2FA, like email or Authenticator app.

Using your PM services...you will not get SMS from anyone when you're away from Canada or US.

where you are going?
you can download VoIP app Fongo for make and receive voice call when you travel. You can receive text for free but not sending text. But system text like 2FA can't be receive using VoIP app like that
so, if you have 2FA, make sure you change to email or use Authenticator app instead of sms

Sorry, PM only have roaming plans for USA so it texting won’t work internationally. You can download WhatsApp for free calling and texting through wifi internationally or purchase a local SIM.

nope...you won't recieve any PM features unless in US with a Cdn/US plan or a 15 Day US add-on. If out of Canada or US, your PM services will not work.
