International Text not working in USA

I live in Canada and spent part of the day in the US today. I tried to send a text there and it said my current plan doesn’t have US roaming text messaging but I have the plan with unlimited US&Canada calling and unlimited international texting. When I got back to Canada I got a couple messages that I should have received while in the US. Any ideas? TYIA

Unfortunately you are not the only one to think it works in the USA. I think Public Mobile needs to be more clear on the plan's description and make if fool-proof by adding a note like

"Calls and texts must originate in Canada!"

You may have Unlimited US and Canada Calling and Unlimited International texting...but they only work while you're in Canada. If you want to have service whilst in USA, look in the Add-on section for a couple of options to consider, as previous suggested.  Good luck and Happy Holidays.

When you travel to USA no services work unless you buy a USA roaming package. 

The exception is incoming SMS which should work in the USA. Why incoming sms did not work I am not sure.  (Were they MMS?)
