I got the same error with the port in for my number.
The text message I got said someone would contact me, I haven't been contacted yet.
The chatbot has advised that there is a technical issue, I'm guessing that the two are related.

it is better to provide them account number from the old provider instead of IMEI. Please get the account number first. Then, there is a number to call to talk to live support and update them the new info, they can re-trigger the process for you. I will message the number to you via the Community inbox ( https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/privatenotespage ) . Check the envelope icon on top right. Call them and get it fixed
