I have a data plan, but the only time I can access the internet is if I am hooked up to WiFi. My area had 3 power outages in 2 days and that's when I realized my data does not work. When I'm away from home, I cannot access any apps or the internet, it tells me I have no connection.

I managed to finally get access to data after resetting everything, turning airplane mode on for a few mins, and powering the phone off & on. 🙂

which area you are in? did you check Telus Outage map to see if Telus confirmed the outage?

while there was issue with PM's data earlier in the week, your issue now has nothing to do with it
there are in fact couple subscriber reporting issue like yours regarding the power outage. Look like the cellular tower is affected. You will have to wait and keep checking by rebooting the phone

There have been issues with PM and data. Try this simple trick. Turn Airplane mode on. Wait 1 minute, then turn it off and reboot your phone. This SHOULD resolve it.
Worse case, reset your Network Settings on your phone and reboot.
