I live in a rural area of Quebec near the border with Maine and my Motorola Moto E only gets the minimum signal at home. The cell tower in town is 7km away, however my neighbor is with Bell and says he gets 5 bars. Is there anyway to get a stronger signal?

@slugbug if your neighbour on Bell has better reception than you, it's because of his phone. Coverage between Bell and Telus (PM) is identical in Quebec.

@slugbug I have only two bars on 5G and my phones working fine I’m not worried about having full strength

US cell phone towers is not an issue as the closest town in Maine is over 80 km from the border. Moto E 2020 is not on the pm voLTE list but voice works just fine. Tested by calling myself using my home phone.

@slugbug So when you look net work options is it on automatic? If so try turn that off and manually choose public mobile see if that helps
@slugbug adding if voice works fine then I’d leave your phone set to LTE . So long as you can make callas and use text and data I would worry to much about the signal strength as it can constantly change status . Just matters that your services are working

@slugbug You might need 3G for voice but you won’t be able to manually connect to bell . Just Telus and bell share towers so if Telus tower not close it will automatically fall back on bell towers if needed . But try both 3G and LTE and see what works best for you is all ya can do short of upgrading phone that’s on the voLTE whitelist that I send you in previous reply . But you can aslo try 5G if you have the option available on your phone

Under network options the preferred network option are LTE (recommended) and 3G. With 3G set I do get 4G though. Should I be using the recommended LTE setting? Choose network option shows Telus and Bell available but Bell is unable to connect.

@slugbug PM uses Telus and bell towers , so you should have same signal as your friend , but be sure to try phone set to 4G/LTE or 5G and see what works best . Can also help to reboot phone or reset network setting aswell and test in different areas can be environmental like if you in basement try it upstairs or even outside . I typically only use 5G outside and LTE indoors
adding @slugbug you could also try turning off automatic and manually choose public mobile if you live close to the border so the phones not trying to pick up on US towers and causing a delay . Also if your phone not on the PM voLTE white list you will have to rely on 3G for voice @slugbug
