How to disable auto-pay without suspending service

With the new model of "subscriptions", is it possible to disable auto-pay without suspending service?

Yes, but that's a different option.  I was only trying to point out that turning off the subscription (as it's named in the Self Serve acount) isn't a suspension.  I agree that the option is poorly named.

Disabling the "subscription" doesn't suspend your service.  It only turns off the autopay mentioned in the first reply to this thread.  While you would lose any $2 autopay reward (if you're on the old rewards system), removing your credit card is not necessary to accomplish what you're requesting.

Not by your own hand or just replace it with a $0 gift credit card. Private message me if you want the details of one of mine.

hi @rbcameron it is possible, you just need to submit ticket to ask support agents to remove the card.  Once removed, make sure you remember to pay by vouchers on time

You cam submit ticket here

Hi, @maximum_gato

So it sounds like it's no longer possible to have no credit card registered, and just pay by manual top up?

If you earn the $2 autopay reward then your best bet is to remain subscribed but put a reminder in your calendar to pay ( or when you pay all of your bills) and log into your account and make a manual top up payment before your renewal. Payments will always be taken from the account balance first before a registered card. Remaining "subscribed" will ensure continuous service in case you forget to pay (this occurred once for me back when i still had a bill) or you come up short by $1 or something?)

The other option would be paying via voucher, instant top up or RTP (real time payments) which many do or especially advantageous if you live in Alberta or the territories with an out of province/territory phone number as you will only pay gst on your voucher amounts.

In this case its preferable to have either a $0 credit gift card registered for autopay ( to earn the $2) or add a soon to expire credit card to the account for autopay. Autopay will fail so manual top ups  with a voucher or alternative payment is best. ( I can supply $0 gift credit card details if needed as I have many depleted cards for this purpose. )

Hi, @maximum_gato

I want the latter, to change to pay by manual top-up. Can you tell me how to do that?

Thanks

@rbcameron

Are you on $$ rewards? Do you want to disable autopay so as to suspend and travel perhaps or just not use credit and pay via voucher or manual top up payments? There are slightly different methods that will retain the $2 autopay reward but not "unsubcribe" you. (Such poor choice of wording changes its easy to confuse customers?!!)

Hi @rbcameron

Log in online, go to subscription on the left side, then on the next page you'll see on the right side manage subscription, then click that and then next you;'ll see a toggle beside subscription. Turn that to the left. Done.
