I got a new phone and what to transfer over my subscription to my new phone. Can this be done?

Take SIM out of old phone, put it in new phone, subscription transferred. Thats all there is to it.
If you want to switch to esim it's more work. But you can do that at a different time too.

so, you are existing PM subscxriber?
usually you just need to download PM app, login ,and choose email to get 2FA code (on the 2FA step, click Didn't receive code and choose email)
once you are in the app, go to Account page, and buy sim and choose esim
if you cannot login the app, then ask PM support agent to help

How do I connect to my account. I can't access my old phone to see the details if it is an esim or not. If I purchase a new esim will I have to purchase a new plan?

yes, iPhone 16 works very well. Just helped a friend to activate his account here with the phone

and is esim critical to you? physical sim is not bad just in case esim does not work

esim usually not an issue with compatibility
it is more the network band the problem. So, what phone do you have?
