Hi, I’ll be moving in a couple of days from Montreal to a city on the outskirts and unfortunately where I’m moving the only service available is LTE and 1 bar only. Roger’s has 5G in the same area
how can we go about asking for better coverage in an area (postal code J7T 0B5)

Sorry hTideGnow, my post was meant for the OP. I'm such a newb at this. I still appreciate your response and information/clarification.
FWIW, I checked Telus's website for coverage and no 5G either, so It's not just a PM thing
Saint-Lazare, QC J7T 0B5, Canada
Available coverage: LTE Advanced, LTE, HSPA+, LTE-M (IoT Network)

hi @Bacsi
yes, PM and Telus use the Bell Network in Quebec, so it is more a Bell thing
That's why I asked you to check your Telus and Bell friends and see if they have similar experience. Or drop b a Telus or Bell store and ask them to show your their epxerience.

hi @Maxou723
what phone do you have?
try Reset Network settings and see if it helps
and for test only try changing network mode to 3G or WCDMA
and do you have any friends using Telus or Koodo or Bell or Virgin? They would have the same network and they would experience the same if it is a network issue in the area

Ok thanks for all the info. Yes I have dropped calls and data doesn’t even work

HI @Maxou723
yes, according to the coverage map, you only have LTE/3G in the area:
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/coverage
But for bars, sometimes, one bar is good enough. So, did you actually see slow data or drop calls? if not, then it is still ok with just one bar
you can also report that to support agent with the 4G , lack of 5G issue. But these things won't come quick.
submit a ticket with CS Agent using Chatbot here:

@Maxou723 I don't know that it would do any good but you can ask customer service, open a ticket at the chat icon bottom right of this page. While you may only get LTE and one bar, that doesn't necessarily mean the phone won't work. I have a 5G plan but only get LTE in my house yet it's tested up to almost 200 Mbps despite only usually having one or two bars.
