I can't confirm this with personal experience but if the help article says so, it must be so. If not, there is a dispute mechanism in place to make it so.

just download the free PM app, log in to your PM account and buy the esim. Make sure you're aware that esim is only used 1 time. If you change phones...you need a new esim whereas hard sim can just be re-used.
