I do not want any SMS messages from them. I blocked the number that sends me the monthly billing notice. Now I just got some SPAM about some free offer. I don't care if it's free data and still want it blocked. The problem is the numbers I block keep changing so that is only a temporary solution.
It's only limited time free data anyways which I won't use. So I especially don't care.
Solved! Go to Solution.

My complaint has absolutely nothing to do with the content. I don't care if it's free stuff or not. I don't want any SMS messages from Public Mobile. They can send me an email if it's something important.
They did sent an email about this promotion clearly stating that you ll be receiving a text which needs to be replied to get the promo.
What are you trying to tell here is you dont care about 500 international minutes and 2GB or data which dont expire until it run out is not needed. Ignore/delete that text as you were ignoring previous spam texts. Simple.

I don't need to stop the PM text and I don't think people should do it
But after talking to OP , I am as upset as OP that he cannot stop it. He is the customer and he has a say to get it or not.
OP had couple threads to try to stop these "spams". So, we are all trying hard to help and offering ways. This is the idea to the Community, find ways to solve the problem

You are really too much. Give it a rest and move on. The OP picked the solution for their own reasons. Why question it? At least give them a chance to try it first. I think that's fair 😁. No....
Geez..,

People have success adding the short code to ignore/block list on the phone
Also, like the Accepted Solution, you picked, Reply STOP to it (if that does not work, then that solution should not be accepted then)

They did send you and email and explained the promotion. And with this promotion, they have designed this offer to use SMS to opt in. So, the system has no choice but to SMS you.
Of course , using SMS is not the mean you like. I encourage you to open a ticket with PM and request them to use Email for opt in promotion like this in the future
For now, a quick way is to just delete the SMS.
A longer way is to add the short code to the ignore list.

@samiam123 : Then you'll complain that you get email spam.
Just delete stuff that you get that you don't care about. Easy. You've gone to more effort posting here complaining than you would have just deleting.

Wow A T T I T U D E ! I think you have misinterpreted the offer.
Every one has their reasons.
But just to clarify.
PM has a number of “text from” numbers based on the message type. They are not changing them on you, like spam spoofed number phone calls.
The add add ons they are giving you ARE NOT time limited. Like any other add on, they roll over month to month until all used. They are great for full coverage calling and some back up of data to cover you till your next cycle starts.
PM has also emailed in advance, with an explanation of the offer. They are doing there best to make sure everyone receives and is not missed. That is why PM is so great to deal with.

@samiam123 of course, it is a personal choice and definition
Then I would delete the "spam" and not respond. Personal choice, highly respect

If the end user (me) thinks it's SPAM then it is SPAM. So yes, the free offer is SPAM.

Just reply to the text with STOP, sometimes that works to stop future texts from that same number.
@walker1 of course it is a personal choice.
but I am also telling OP that the text is not "some SPAM about some free offer".
like your reply to my other post, I don't like info that " isn't totally correct."

@samiam123 the free offer might not be spam
PM is giving out Christmas bonus to EVERY customer. Check the message again!! it is real.. NOT spam!!
More is Merrier is back! - Community (publicmobile.ca)
You are lucky you got the text early.. Many are still waiting.
And trust me, while the monthly text seems to be repetitive.. and annoying sometimes but I do not suggest you from blocking it. Some of those text are useful. If Autopay ever failed your your account suspended for non-payment, this could be an useful text
and in this case, this is a real FREE offer ..
