I took out my old sim card and replaced it with the public mobile sim card I received.
I thought everything was well and my phone number would be ported from my previous provider to public, but I
recently got a message from public that my number couldn't be transferred, and they assigned a new phone number to my phone. What should I do now? I still have my old sim card and tried switching back, but that doesn't seem to solve anything..

You have to confirm first if your old number is portable to PM:

@geremi142 Does your old SIM card still work ? If so call the porting team and ask them to re trigger the port request for you leaving that sim in phone to reply YES to the confirmation text to port
