Got a new bank card and forgot to update autopay so account was deactivated this morning, entered new card and account is back up and running but I had to pay the full $55 instead of the usual $35 ($20 discount). Have I lost the $20 discount?

This promotion acts very strange but it is likely that the $20 discount credit was applied and will appear in your payment history after your manual top up payment but before your 30 day plan/$10 and 20GB OF DATA AT 4G SPEED/$45 plan charges are listed.

@Justjory probably not. should still be there
login again using Incognito mode and see if you see a $20 credit there as Available Fund. Check payment history to confirm if they apply back a $20 credit
