My dad is currently having an issue with group messaging.
He is unable to send messages to multiple people in a group chat, the message just fails to send and sits there continuing to fail to send every time you try to resend it. When he receives group messages, the messages don't actually show up in his chat, it just shows there are messages to download but you can't actually get them to download.
I have tried clearing the cache and the data from the messages app. I have tried switching messaging programs. I have restarted the phone multiple times. I have switched off wifi to try and send and receive the messages on mobile and I've turned the wifi back on. I have reset the network adapters. None of these have worked and the problem continues.
It is a Samsung Galaxy S7 android phone so obviously it's an older phone so I'm not sure if that's contributing to the problem. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on what might be the problem and how to fix it. Thank you.

Thank you for your help. I finally got a chance to check my dads phone and found that his APN settings weren't right. I wound up resetting the settings and that got everything working again so he's happy because his phone is working again and he doesn't have to replace his phone. Thank you to everyone that had suggestions and helped. 🙂

This FINALLY solved my problem as well after a week of trying and failing! I guess they must of made some kind of mistake with case sensitivity. This worked with my phone that's a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with custom Android 9 LineageOS ROM. It stopped working on the 28th or 29th of February despite having already made the recommended APN changes (keeping it lower case). Thanks so much for the suggestion and that tech support agent!

Hey! So I just went through the exact same issue as you on my Galaxy S6. Many tickets later and a solution was found: after changing all the other access point settings to what they recommended, in the end it was changing the APN to all capital letters. That did it. Maybe this could work for your dad's S7 as well...
So in our case the full settings will be:
Name: Public Mobile
APN: SP.MB.COM
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMS proxy: mmsproxy.mobility.ca
MMS port: 8799
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
every other setting was just left as per the default
Let me know if this solves your issue!

That's what I assume too the only thing that make me wonder otherwise is that they said that devices older then 2015 wont work and your dad device was release in 2016. If you want to be sure you can try to reach support by creating a ticket and ask them is this specific device is still supported

You can try to adjust the APN Settings to see whether MMS messaging will work.

APN Type: default,supl,mms
or default,mms,agps,supl,fota,hipri

I'm not sure when it stopped working exactly. It was just noticed this weekend but that does make sense. I know that the S7 is no longer supported by the manufacturer so the information from the link seems to be the likely issue.
