Gifs won't send in sms

Are gifs not supported in pm's sms? I tried with the phone's messenger app and it wouldn't work so downloaded Google's sms app and still won't work. 

So what's the deal?

Ok thanx. I tried the stock sms app and the Android sms on playstore and they didn't work. Did some digging and found Textra on playstore and worked! Solved thanx

Many phones (esp cross platform, eg Apple to Android) will have issues

This is nothing to do with Public Mobile. Gifs has to be supported by an app not by a carrier.
