Frequent calls from unknown numbers

hi I keep receiving random calls from unknown numbers every single day, and I don’t have no clue how to stop it, and why it’s doing that. Ever since changing to Public Mobile, I would receive empty phone calls from random numbers every single day.  3-4times a day

you can change the phone number 4 times a month.  Older area code is tempting, but it also means the number has some "history", so it is not bad to get a number from newer area code

spam calls like junk mail, hard to get rid of.  And trust me, it has nothing to do with the carriers.  And carriers have no control on it

If you like , best to use the iPhone feature Silence Unknown Callers and it will send those calls to Voicemail

or if you like, you can also choose a new number.

I transferred from Telus, and have never encountered it frequently before. Ever since transferring, I keep getting calls.  I keep getting calls from numbers that are from Canada.  I suspect it’s a glitch or an issue that Public Mobile must resolve? What’s weird is that, I keep getting calls and when I do answer, no one responds, ever.  It must be a glitch.  This whole thing started 3 months ago, and I’ve had Public Mobile since March of this year. And I don’t send out my phone numbers anywhere to any bogus websites, not that I know of.

This might be all spoofed number you see on display as spammers are trying to find out if your phone is active and then to try to molest you with annoying calls.
If you do not recognize number - do NOT pick up a call, simple as that. Legitimate calls you REALLY want to get in touch with you will leave voice mail.

You cannot stop these calls (at least not at public mobile) and do not waste your time blocking numbers.

best thing to do is adopt this suggestion. When you get a call and don't recognize the calling number..just don't answer the call. If it's a legit call, they can leave a voice massage for you to call back.  Once the bad guys know that you will answer all calls, they'll continue to hound you. It takes a coupla days, but once you stop answering..the bogus calls will diminish. I get maybe 1 or 2 calls a month now.

@Yoshi03, did you transfer in an existing number or did you choose a new number through PM? If you chose a new number it's possible the number once belonged to someone else in which case you can go into your account and choose a new number. The fact you are getting unknown numbers calling you should not be directly related to PM but you can look into apps out there that are supposed to block numbers etc.
