Hello,
I am new to Public Mobile and have recently obtained a new plan and new number. Today at roughly 10 am I began the porting process of my number Fido to Public. In the porting page, I entered all the information correctly. Now my Fido sim card is inactive, but I have yet received any confirmation of a successful port. My current Public sim card does not have a telephone number. I really hope that my number was not lost in the process because I cannot afford to lose this number. I am unable to access the plan details and loads a generic error. What would be my next steps on recovering my phone number? I have already private messaged the mods, any input from the community? Thank!

Update: my phone number still isn't transferred over and I believe it is now lost because it displays another phone number under my public account as of this morning. I still haven't gotten a reply from the mods after sending a message yesterday. Already feeling dissatisfied with public mobile 😞

Yeah, I've rebooted it and shut it off for 5 minutes and still the same thing. Mods havent gotten back to me yet so I'm still waiting for now.

Try rebooting your phone.

Thank you, I will give them a message. A little update, my account at Fido is now currently cancelled, and the plan and add-ons tab at public mobile website now displays my phone number and doesn't give me the generic error. I believe that the number is now hung up at PM considering I still cannot receive or call out. I have tried texting, but i'm sure its the same thing. Is it just a waiting game at this point? I would like to know if others have also experienced this. Thank you all!

@JuliusI, At this point, i would recommend sending a private message to the moderator team. A port from Fido should have gone through by now. Something just doesn't seem right. I wouldn't worry about loosing your number. If it is no longer at Fido, it is with Public Mobile.

No i cannot call out. If i try calling my number an operator responds saying that my phone number cannot receive incoming calls. I still do not have a working number.

Good. Your Fido number is in PM system.
Can you call out or send text out?
If yes, just wait for porting to be completed.

Hi it still gives me the generic error, but before it started giving me the error it gave me the Fido number and the PM one was gone

Fido ports are usually quick within 1-2 hours. Sometimes, it might take longer up to 2-4 hours. Hopefully, it will successfully port in the next 1-2 hours. Not sure whether today being a holiday affects anything?
You will very unlikely lose your phone number. The moderators will help if incomplete port, but it will take some time for moderators to respond. Usually 1-2 days. Avoid sending multiple messages since that will delay the response time.

Try to login again. When I got that error, I can login again after restart browser.
Which number do you have on your account? PM or Fido
