Failed to download multimedia message.

My plan does not include data but is supposed to include unlimited text and picture messaging.  However, when I get a message with pictures I can't open the file.  It tells me "Failed to download attachment from multimedia attachment".  I've tried all the fixes I've found online but to no avail.  I'm using Android 8.1.  Could the problem be that my operating system is too old?

HI @Fred829 

make sure Mobile Data is turned on when you send and receive MMS.  It needs to data connection to download and upload.  Although it data needs to be on, it won't actually use the data in your data bucket
