Anybody managed to make this work on PM? It would require their default SIM Pin2 to set it up - if they have one. There are only 3 tries before the feature is locked out, so very limited guessing 😞

@slusagm thank you - I had already started to do that as a last resort. Since PIN2, FDN and Fixed Dialing Numbers weren't even in the chatbot's vocabulary, I hadn't gone down that road, also as you mention not easy to get past the chatbot.
But this was the right approach in the end, and successful, after a few exchanges. It turns out that the default PIN2 is the same as the default PIN, 1234 😞 Sure would be nice to have this info on the back of the sim's card, as some providers do.
While I was at it I obtained the PUK and PUK2 for my sim, so all my bases are now covered.
Thank you, and all, for the support!

ask PM to provide you the PIN 2 code
Simply open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right. (For 2FA code when login, use email to receive code instead of SMS if you cannot receive the text on the phone.) When open Chatbot ticket, Type the question Submit ticket and select Contact Us to get to ticket open screen
But if you have trouble using Chatbot to open ticket, then message PM using this link:

PM will reply to your community inbox, between 9AM-10PM EST (Mon-Sun), check here:

@slusagm , yes, I understand all this, and am familiar with the process, but it starts with overriding the default pin2 code built into the sim, with only 3 tries - hint: it's not 1234, nor 5678 as found on internet. Blowing the 3rd try means locking up PUK2, i.e. hoping I can then get to PM directly to reset it, which is unlikely as I can't get an answer on pin2. Hence my quest to see if someone actually has the correct answer...
In othewr words, the pin2 code is not blank to start with, then you set it up, there is already a basic pin2 in the new sim which must be overwritten to activate the feature.
@hairbag1 thanks, indeed setting up the phone for a disabled child.

It should work.
It is mainly a phone feature and just need to setup PIN2
To set fixed dialing on your phone, go to the Phone app > Settings > Supplementary Services (or similar) > Fixed Dialling Numbers, then tap Enable FDN and enter your PIN2 to activate the feature and restrict outgoing calls to only pre-approved numbers. You must then add the permitted numbers to the list.
Step-by-step instructions to enable Fixed Dialing
Open: the Phone application on your device.
Tap: on the menu icon (often three dots or lines).
Select: Settings from the menu.
Tap: on Supplementary Services (or "Additional settings" or "More settings").
Select: Fixed Dialling Numbers.
Tap: Enable FDN to activate the feature.
Enter your PIN2: (usually provided by your carrier, with a default of 0000 or 1111) and tap OK.
After enabling FDN
You will need to add numbers to the FDN list to allow calls to those numbers.
Outgoing calls to numbers not on the FDN list will be blocked unless the PIN2 is entered.
Incoming calls are not affected.
Emergency numbers are also usually exempt from FDN restrictions.
Important notes
The exact menu names and options may vary slightly depending on your phone's make and model and your Android version.

fixed dialing numbers are numbers pre-set in the cell to be able to call...only those numbers can be dialed. Many parents of young cellphoner's prefer to have this feature to keep kids from dialing who knows who.

@Charlie_Zoe Honest question here… why would anyone need this feature? If you don’t want to call someone, why not just - not call them?

as Public Mobile is a bare-bones type of service without many frills...I doubt if FDN is workable.
