You can use WhatsApp or TextNow when connected to wifi. Otherwise, you need to purchase a local SIM.

Public mobile only offer roaming in the united states, I sudgest you get a local esim or sim card while traveling abroad like Airalo

nope. PM only has service in Canada and US with an add-on.
correction..PM also has a Canada / US plan...no add-on req'd....but nothing for travel to Europe.
