I downloaded esim. Then discovered that the phone is not esim compatible and I'm stuck on the esim activation page.

Also, if you decide to go the route of a physical SIM card I recommend setting that up first through the subscription (if you haven't already done so) where there is a promotion to get it free and have it either mailed to you or you can pick it up at a TELUS/Koodo or Mobile Klinik location, but your best bet would probably be to contact the Customer Support agent as @hTideGnow has recommended

what phone do you have? sometimes the error was wrong and the phone can have esim
if you really want physical sim back, get a Public Mobile sim from Telus or Koodo store, then submit a ticket with CS agent via direct message using this link:
