How to transfer E SIM with my previous provider to Public E SIM? Doesn't seem to be switching correctly

iPhone 16 has dual E SIM capabilities. The old one is listed as Primary and the PM E SIM is listed as Personal. All contacts are attached to the Primary number, can we delete the old E SIM because somehow something is stopping the phone from operating correctly.

your old esim should be defunct now. Once you successfully ported to PM, your old account is deactivated.

We responded YES to the old provider, they have closed the account but the PM isn't working.
I have assisted friends with the SIM card transfers but never E SIMs

we downloaded the E SIM, we ported the phone number. The iMessage isn't working and the Old provider is still the PRIMARY and the PM E SIM shows PERSONAL. Should I delete the old provider E SIM?

after you initiate the port of your old number to PM, you must replay YES within 90 mins to the confirmation request. Once your old esim quits working, then the port is complete and you should have Public Mobile service established.

The Public E SIM is installed, however the old provider E SIM is also on the phone. How do I know when to uninstal the previos E SIM?

you need a Public Mobile esim now. Download the PM app to get your free esim to activate your new PM account. You'll be given opportunity to port your old number to your new PM account during the activation process.
