I lost physical SIM card. If I buy an E-SIM card, is it still my old phone number?

of course you can keep the same number

What you need to do is to download the PM app on the new phone, login to the app, go to Account page and choose Buy sim card and select eSIM.

the system might still charge you the $5.  Pay and install the esim

yep...log in to your Public Mobile account on the app, and buy your new esim. Just make certain your cellphone is esim compliant.

Yes you would still have same phone number. 

When you get your new phone if that was lost also, you have to download the Public Mobile App to it. Then go to Account,  purchase SIM card> purchase  eSIM. If your phone is eSIM compatible, it will charge you $5 and your number will be there.

You might have to restart phone.
