I have 250 mb of 3G of data left this month but I have 6 Gb of 2 G data left in addons. When the 3G is used up does it switch over to the 2 G. What's the difference?

Your plan is a 3G speed by the sounds of it, whereas the 2G you note is actually a data allocation of 2gb which was a Christmas bonus. I.e. in this context 2G is not in reference to speed.

I am surprised you still have 2G data. This is old technology frequencies.
3G data is 30 times faster than 2G. Also, 3G is coming to the end of 2025 so a lot of people with old phones with these frequencies will need to look for a new phone.

once your regular plan data is exhausted, your add-on data will take over until next renewal.

@Stef2 When you use up your plan data . The add on data will kick in automatically .You need do nothing . And it will be the same speed as the data you pay for . So no difference
