Coverage Question

scope11

I just ported over from Telus to PM. Coverage map clearly shows I'm in a 5G supported area (Ottawa area). After activation and port, my phone is showing 3G at my home, and speed tests on cellular run at 10mb down and 1.5mb up. Is this what I signed up for? Help...

Interestingly, these options were set already. I came from Telus and had 5G coverage. What fixed this for me was a reboot of the iPhone. Not sure why, but it's working now. Thanks.

@scope11   You should be getting at least LTE in that area assuming your phone isn't 3G only.  Go to Settings - Cellular - Cellular Data Options - Voice and Data if an iPhone and make sure it isn't set to 3G.  It would be something similar for Android,  just checking my "retired" Android and it would be Settings - Wireless & Networks - Mobile Network - Preferred Network Mode

@scope11  You need to set your phone to 5G network and make sure you have 5G capable phone and that your in 5G coverage area . But note some 5G capable phone like the Samsung s20 series won’t get the 5G network like it will with Telus .
