I have been with PM for a few years now, and upgraded to a 23$/month plan 6 months ago. If I go to view other plans, there are a few options that are cheaper than the plan I am currently on. However, I have seen discussions posts talking about how many people are NOT offered any cheaper plans than the one they are on. I have a family member who was considering switching to PM. They need a large amount of data for their first month, but not nearly as much after that. I was going to suggest starting on a beefier plan with more data for the first month, and then just switching to a cheaper one after that. What are the chances that they won't be able to switch to a cheaper one if they start with the expensive one? Are there any better options? Thanks!

I usually change my plan to the best deal because let's face it there is usually a new plan every month lol

@BKappers Since the plans available now seem individualized there's no way to know what would be available in a given person's account. The general "rule" these days is that most of the plans that can be switched to are more expensive than the current plan but there may be some cheaper. Some have got their plans down in price stepwise, i.e. a cheaper available plan set up may then reveal a cheaper one yet for the next renewal. But it's all going to be a gamble.

@BKappers Starting with a "beefier" plan will most likely result in a lesser ability to downgrade.
Every customers offers are uniquely catered to them so its hard to say what will or wont be available at any given time. Perhaps starting with the plan that they think they may end up with AFTER the first month aka the long term target plan) and then purchasing a data add on for the period/amount required to satisfy month 1? Hope this helps
