Do Canada-US plans work for calls originating in the US, or only for calls originating in Canada?

@PAW1 no problem. My wife used the plan last month in Florida and it was awesome not having to worry about long distance calls, not having wifi around... it worked out very well. Even after having 2 to 3 video calls a day for around 10 minutes at a time she used up surprisingly little data. Her phone technically supports VoLTE but is not on the whitelist so she was not able to make or receive calls on AT&T although texting and data worked fine. On T-Mobile everything worked

Thanks for the additional information - very helpful to me in selecting my plan!

Yes the Canada/USA plan with calling, texting and data works in both countries.
Make sure Roaming and VoLTE are enabled. If you have problems getting service, you will manually need to connect to AT&T or T-Mobile network.

@PAW1, calls, text and data work in the US just as if you were in Canada
Canada to Canada
Canada to US
US to US
US to Canada
For when you are in the US, If your phone is not on the PM whitelist of VoLTE devices you will likely need to manually connect to T-Mobile on 2G to be able to make or receive calls.
Scroll towards the bottom for a list of VoLTE-roaming enabled devices:

@PAW1 the can-us plan works in both countries equally yes.
You need to have roaming on and a VoLTE enabled phone.
