Dialing a number and it goes to two different phones?!!?

I have an issue where I dial my wife's number and both her number and my mother-in-law's phone rings (both on Public mobile but completely separate accounts and email addresses and, of course, phone numbers). The same happens if I can the mother-in-law........my wife's phone will ring as well.

Any idea what in the world is happening here?

@qhewlettIf both phones are iPhones, are both iPhones are signed into the same Apple ID / iTunes account, apple may be trying to make things more "convenient" by ringing all devices logged into the account, no matter which one the call comes in on.

@qhewlett

you can try reseat the SIM card and Make sure your phone is off before removing your SIM card,

1. power off your device

2. take out the SIM card,

3. waiting a 1 minute,

4. put it back and power on,

5. toggling airplane mode off/on,

and try manually selecting network "3G ONLY" or WCDMA only,

for iPhone visit Here link

or Here link

for android visit Here link ,

and do Rebooting your phone ,This is quick and simple,to refreshing your network,

*what is meant by rebooting the device turn off and turn it back on.

@Anonymous  I think this is a device issue, rather than an account issue.

I am thinking this, but not sure exactly...let's see what info OP can provide.

@qhewlett - do each of these people have iphones? And did one of them give them the other iphone recently?

Try deregistering the phone number under the iphone you do not want it registered to.
