For the reason I have stated earlier, this is something that a customer support agent would be very hesittant to do.  It's not a matter of if they can do it, but rather if they are allowed to do it.

Hi @Handy1

if is available in system they CSA, can get back with new activation account with new SIM card and new plan.

originally from where your number is taken @Raymondtsang555  you need to contact them to check is available or maybe someone else is taken, but try to make a call to your number see in service or no.

if not want your old number back, that fine, start new Activate Your SIM Card Online | Public Mobile

I see customer support agents as unlikely to do that.  Otherwise, this would be a way for customers to get a number back after assigning a number a new number to an account and then porting the number out or giving/selling the account to someone else and then trying to get the original number back.  Altthough that's probably not the situation here, the scenario above is something that is against company policy for a customer suport agent to help with.

Okay nvm, ended up logging in. The site was just super glitchy. Tried another link and I was able to login.

@LoveNature  There’s no guarantee for op to Get number back if account is closed and if it was ported from say  bell .. once closed that number would go back to bells pool of numbers

edit but if it originated from the Telus family of service there’s a better chance of such .. call number first @Raymondtsang555  find out if it’s just suspended if so then you just need to reactivate plan and your number safe if closed over 90 days new account will be needed .. let us know what you find out and we can advise from there

@Raymondtsang555  If it’s been more than 90 days the accounts closed and you would need to start a new account . Try 18554PUBLIC and see if it can find your account .. by then entering your phone number you will at least know it it’s just suspended or closed
