Foolish question, but hey, it's the silly season 😄
Looking at the "CAN-US-MEX 5G 75GB FOR $35/MO" plan which ends Dec 31st.
My next renewal date is 14th Jan 2025. I'm guessing if I select the option to switch to the above plan on renewal, I will still get it on the renewal date, even though it's after the 31st?

You will need to get a new SIM and open a new account but unfortunately you will need to pick a new number because you can’t port your number from PM to PM.
Or port to another carrier and port back to keep your number.

I think you are right. My current plan is at 36 p/m which is why maybe its not showing me boxing day offer. How can i then get it? Do i cancel the existing subscription and then subscribe to boxing day deal? Would i be able to keep my same contact number?

On the app, go to Subscription tab at the bottom then Manage Subscription>Change Subscription. It will list all plans you are eligible for. Not all plans are available for members. Unfortunately if the plan is lower than your current plan. You can’t downgrade your plan but you can upgrade your current plan.

Where do you see the option to switch to the above plan on renewal? In my app when i click on change subscription options, it does not show me the boxing day deal option at all. However if i sign out and then browse plans on public mobile, then I am able to see the boxing day offer. I also want to subscribe to the boxing day deal and I am fine for it to take effect on renewal which is in Jan for me as well

Yes, you can (and should) select change on renewal to lock it in before the offer expires. Once you select "change on renewal" you are essentially accepting the offer, so you will still get it even though your renewal is after the offer exp. I suggest you do the "change on renewal" so that you dont lose any unused data/money from the previous cycle as public will likely not offer a refund on the unused portion.

@sharkusmarkus to add to what's been shared, I would recommend that you take a screenshot of the confirmation message saying that you will be switched to the plan you want on the next renewal. We have seen before where customers were disappointed to see that they either did not get the switch at all or the plan they were switched to was not the same

Of course you can. Just click to change on your Next Renewal Date to lock in the Boxing Day deal. It will automatically change on January 14.

Yes, it will be switched on the renewal date 14 Jan 2025.
You can confirm as well on the "View Upcoming Payment Breakdown" (Mobile APP).

Yes. I just picked the same one on my renewal in future and I saw the new plan pending to start on next renewal date.
