Could Somebody tell me why when i am asleep at night and early morning my data is being used up?
This ranges from 12 - 20 mb per day two different amounts at the same time,

Turn off "Background App Refresh" ------Also why do you keep your phone on while sleeping?

@PaulBrum Yes, you can do reset like what @BKNS27 said for couple nights. Before you go to bed, reset the counter to zero. then next morning , you can check again.
But I think @Dunkman could have answered your question, the usage log for data only update couple times a day (maybe twice?) , so the entries you see could be a sum of the total usage for the previous day, or at least the last couple hours of the day

If you have an iPhone, go to Settings>General>Background App Refresh and either turn Off but I would recommend to put it in WiFi.

@PaulBrum It is know that Public mobile will use about a 5.2mb buffer for your mobile data. This gets reset nightly or when you toggle airplane mode on and turn your mobile data
For your 12-20mb data usage, did you turn of Mobile Data completely? or you just have both Wifi and Mobile Data turned on while you sleep?
And , are you on Android or iPhone?
Post us screenshots for couple days for those mysterious data usage

There are apps updating in the background while you sleeping.
What phone do you have so we can help you with your Setting to minimize this?

It looks like data usage is recorded late evening or early morning depending on your location in Canada. Checking my account, all my data usage is recorded in two entries late at night (located Western Canada.).
