I remember when I activated my Koodo home phone a while back, and there was a small amount of data also tacked on there. I was told by a Koodo rep it was for internal housekeeping, more for their purposes than mine. It is doubtful you will be able to use it. I know I have no means to use it on my Koodo home phone.

@ugie, depending on the phone and the apps installed on the phone, burning up 5 MB on sync and other stuff is pretty small. iPhones have wifi assist as well that can consume data. I don't think it is anything to worry about. It is definitely not to do with the carrier or the service.

I was kinda waiting for someone more expert than I.
I think he means 5MB. It seems to be a common topic that comes up. If one has several GB of data then it hardly matters in the grand scheme of things. iirc I think I saw it even with a data add-on. 5MB of 200MB now... 🙂
But it is a question of curiosity.
