@Chalupa_Batman that is still not true.

The APN settings there only manages hotspot sharing.  If that screen has the wrong entry, data on your phone will still  work, but just you cannot successfully share your hotspot.

However, with the correct Carrier Profile, usually even you tweak the APN on that sceen, it will change it back to the correct APN, depends on the setup

hi @Chalupa_Batman

you might not know iPhone well.

on an iPhone, the APN settings are locked and controlled by the carrier profile. You normally cannot edit APN unless the carrier explicitly allows it, and Public Mobile does not allow any modifications

And if you have the correct Carrier profile, you can update the "APN" you see on your iPhone but it still won't affect your data access, as that is not the screen that controls it

It's cute when accounts are switched. As mentioned, you can not use data if the APN settings are incorrect. And as mentioned, I know iPhones very well and I already know you can't change them. The only way to update them is through either a Network reset or the Airplane mode trick.

thanks @softech for your confirmation and explanation, it really help people on thos community to have better understanding on how iPhone works

APN settings for  regular data is managed by Carrier Profile.  It is fully locked down by Apple  and there is no way for regular users to modify it

Some parts of that are correct, as the part where iPhone users can't access it. However, APN settings are meant for both data and hotspot. If the APN settings are incorrect, you wouldn't have data.

Actually @hTideGnow , APN settings are meant for data usage, including hotspot settings. The APN settings are like a connecting bridge between a persons mobile device and Public Mobile's network (Data). If a persons APN settings are incorrect, then they won't have data access. As you've mentioned, resetting the Network Settings and rebooting the iPhone SE will reset the APN settings that should be there.

For iPhone, make sure you have the latest iOS and have the latest Carrier Profile.  Then try Reset network settings once more

Hello @Mara4

This has been an ongoing issue for a few weeks. This suggested has helped a few so far.

Turn your phone into Airplane mode for a full 10 to 15 minutes. Then, turn the phone off for a full 5-10 minutes. Reboot the phone, turn airplane mode off, this will reset your connection to Public Mobile.

@Mara4

using the mobile app, log in to your Public Mobile account you should see Usage Breakdown...tap it to see status of your plan including data and add-ons in your account. Is it possible you've used up your data allotment until next regular plan renewal ?

check if our data is turned on .

also, check if you have mobile data limit enabled, it could be blocking it

but if data issue persists, ask PM to check and reprovision the account on the system

Just open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right. (For 2FA when login, you might need to use email to receive if you cannot receive the text on the phone.) Type the question Submit ticket and select Contact Us to get to ticket open screen
