Data service is abnormal

This early morning, I got a 611 phone message stating I have used 75% of my data. But today, Oct 9, is the only the first day of current month plan. How comes I have used 75% of the data? I checked my account, the data usage is only 7.69MB.

Yes, I checked apps' data usage on my cellphone, shut off some apps' background data, and only use wifi for some of them. My Last Subscription Cycle is Sep 09, 2023 - Oct 09, 2023 per my online account . I assume today is the first day of a new cycle. The 75% usage message caused me to be panic. With your replies, I think it might be just fake message. I will keep an eye on it.

Does your phone not list the amount of data used per app in the settings somewhere?  In an iPhone you just go to Settings -> Cellular and then scroll down to the app listing.

Do you have background processes set up to avoid or use data?   Limit it to wi-fi only.

Ensure you have no data-limiters set up as these will 'disengage' your mobile data connection after a user pre-set limit is reached.

Other than that, it's pretty much only information which you would be able to get by searching your own device's data usage by app under your cellular connections area.

best to login My Account using Incognito mode to confirm the usage, that is the best way

But a reminder, PM is running on a 30 days cycle and NOT monthly.  So, make sure to confirm if Oct 9 is really the beginning of the cycle

I worry about this because last cycle,  I ran out of my data, which is very un-usual. I had no data for the last several days of the cycle.  I am trying to figure out which of my cell apps was using abnormal much data. And today is supposed to be the first day of a new cycle, I was shocked to get such a message only a couple hours after the new cycle start.

Those data messaging notes are almost useless.  They get 'confused' sometimes.

Rely SOLELY on the self-serve landing screen for remaining data allotment.
