Thank you so much for the quick reply

@Tami333   Yes you can use your phone with Whatsapp when you have Wifi , or if you buy local data sim card

PM won't be able to provide service in Honduras there.  So, no extra charge from PM

So I can download WHATSAPP and use my phone down in Honduras with no extra charges to my plan?

@roakey  - are you seeing charges on your credit card or My Account?

If credit card, check your payment history in your My Account to see what charges you are referring to:

https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/en/account/payment/payment-history

Are you coming back to Canada?

If so, then you can suspend services (remove autopay or list in lost/stolen status if you carry a balance to renew your plan) up to 90 days without losing your account/number (as @softech mentions).

NOTE: only in nonpay/suspended status for over 90 days, or if you ported your Public Mobile number to another provider will close your account with Public Mobile.

@roakey   if you are talking about your regular monthly charge that PM still charging you while you are away from canada, this is NORMAL.  Like hydro, you need to take care of the service yourself.  There is no way PM knows you don't need the service and stop charging if you don't do anything

If you don't need the service, login to My Account and stop Pre-authorized payment yourself.  Go to Payment page, click Manage payment method and disable Pre-Authorized payment.

Pm will not charge you from again on the next renewal and your plan will be suspended.  If you do not pay again within  90 days after the first day of suspension , your account will then be permanently closed

What are they charging you for,  @roakey ?

Did you expect that you wouldn't be charged your normal cycle charges every 30 days?

How would Public Mobile know your whereabouts and whether or not you wish to have availability of service (upon return to areas with coverage)?

@roakey  Public mobile is prepaid service , and does not work in New Zealand … just Canada and the US with roaming add on …. There are also never no surprise billing with public mobile as it’s a prepaid services you. Can only use what you have already paid for

PM is prepaid service, whether you are in Canada or not you will be charged for your plan until you suspend your account or disable auto pay.

If your plan is still active, you’ll be charged as usual. They don’t know your travel plans and it’s up to you to suspend your service if you’ll be out of Canada for a while. Public doesn’t  have roaming plans for New Zealand so you won’t have service or charges there.
Contact a CS agent if needed.

@roakey

PM doesn’t have Roaming and you shouldn’t have service in New Zealand so there shouldn’t be any Roaming charges to your account.

Best to login to your account and see if there are charges in your account.

If your renewal date passed and you are on AutoPay. It could be charges for the next month. If this is the case, disable AutoPay so you won’t be charged for the following month.

Public mobile doesn't have international roaming, the only area you can get a temporary roaming plan addon is for the USA, so there wouldn't be any charges other than your 30-day rate plan, and no overages either.
