Data add on not working

A few days ago I was coming up to my data limit so I paid the $30 to add an additional 1GB of data. However, when my normal amount of data from my plan ran out and I am still unable to use data even though I bought more. I don't use a ton of data so I don't think I would have used the full 1GB of additional data already.

Have look at your elf serve account. If you see $30 in Available Funds, just "buy" again. This time the system will take that money and activate the add-on. See https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Plans-Add-Ons/HOWTO-Purchasing-Add-ons/m-p/198974

There is also the option to renew your current plan early by contacting the moderators with a private message.
