I am new to Public Mobile. I have setup the Public Mobile APN, and the Mobile Network State shows Connected. Whether I try to use my browser or use Messenging (MMS) to send a photo there is no connection to cellular data. No response to emails sent to team moderator, so hoping community can assist me. Thank you.

Solved. In checking the APN setup, I noticed I had entered the Proxy IP in the wrong field.
Correcting my APN settings resolved my problem.
I am very pleased with my choice to switch to Public Mobile.
Thank you.

I have now done a Factory data reset (Reset all settings and delete all data on device).
After repowering and updating device, I resetup the Public Mobile APN.
Rebooted device again, and then tried the Internet. Exactly the same issues as before.
Phone works fine, but no data.
I think I should either purchase a newer cell phone or hang on until team_moderator contacts me... perhaps it is something on their side they only can see.
Many thanks again for your tenacity helping me.

Agree with above.
You will likely need to try either network reset or factory reset on your phone and try again.

Under Settings --> More Settings --> Mobile Networks:
Mobile Data is checked (green check mark in box)
Data Roaming is checked (green check mark in box)
Network mode is LTE/GSM/WCDMA (auto mode)
Settings --> About Device --> Status:
Network: Public Mobile
Mobile network type: LTE:14
Service state: In service
Roaming: Not roaming
Device status: Official
This suggest that you are properly connected to the network for data. I wonder if there is a network reset that may need to be done because the phone may have been used on a different network at one point. Samsung and LG phones are terrible for this.

I have to run to work now. I'll check for ideas when I get back home at end of day.
Thank you so very much for these great suggestions. I realize that I may have to go back to the store and buy a newer phone. Again many thanks!

Successfully switched to WCMDA = everything looks good...and restarted phone.
On trying to connect to the Internet after restart the browser reported: No network connection. No signal found for mobile networks. And the usual Webpage not available.

okay... will try now.

I am not familiar with how to change those settings?
08-31-2018 10:52 AM
If you can maybe change the network mode from auto to WCMDA and see if that works.

Your phone is older from 2012. Here is some more information.

Thank you my cell phone is a Galaxy Rugby SGH-i547C.
My phone is not in the list on the website provided.
I interpret that to mean that my phone is not compatible, which perhaps is the reason why the cellular data is not working.

@Rivergully, you mention mobile network state is connected. That means the phone is connected to the network. What about mobile data network type. What does that show?

Recheck your APN according to your phone model with this link:
Ensure you have the correct APN settings by visiting https://apn-canada.gishan.net/. Select the brand and model of your phone, scroll down the page and then select Public Mobile. After doing so, you will be provided with the exact APNs required for your phone on Public Mobile network. Make sure that it is exactly as stated in link (including upper and lower caps).
You might need to do a factory reset on your phone... Moderators take 1-2 days to respond and try not to send multiple messages since it will delay your response time.
