I have a ZTE X1 5g that I use in the USA on Verizon's network (Actually on Visible, Verizon's discount brand)
I want to get a sim for a Canadian carrier for more data than my USA plan has and Public seems to be reasonably priced and has the USA/Canada plan
Any idea if this phone will run on Public's network? Is unlocked
These are the phone specs https://www.gsmarena.com/zte_blade_x1_5g-10706.php

is this a ZTE BLADE X1 5G?
According to what I see these are the bands it has, BOLD are the compatible bands
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100
4G bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 66
5G bands 2, 5, 66 Sub6
and these are the bands you need for PM:
Any phone should ideally have 3G B2, B5 and LTE B4 (or B66 instead of B4), B12 (or B17 instead of B12) for minimum coverage.
The need for B2 and B7 gives you the faster speed while B5 assure you better indoor coverage in downtown urban area
So, it should work from the spec

I love and use the Samsung Note phones myself, the nice thing is If the screen ever stops responding to touch with your finger, the S-Pen will still work regardless of how broken the screen is.
I say that the pros work out the cons around here at Public Mobile, The Community is very helpful and Customer Support isn't that hard to reach once you've familiarized yourself with using The Community and Private Messages.
There isn't many issues I see that go unresolved on The Community, my questions are always accurately answered here. 🙂

Thanks for the reply, Public sounds a bit like Visible is down here vs Verizon.. the price is great vs the big carrier when it works but sometimes when people have issues it can be harder to resolve. I see stories on the Visible forums of people having issues and since its all online they cannot go into a store for in person service. In my case its worked fine and is about half what I paid at Verizon or T-mobile for similar service. Public looks worth trying especially if my phone works since its month to month worst case is I am out $50 plus activation if I am not happy. I do have a Samsung Note 9 that would probably work as well but has a cracked screen

It'll be fine for voice here. LTE may have sufficient connectivity with a few bands but it seems a bit sparse. As for use in the states, it appears to have 2G GSM. You need to hope that this place will let you use volte (assuming the phone can do volte). Then voice would be no problem. There's no guarantee they would. They're severely restrictive about which devices they'll let use volte.
@Priority- Did you have a chance to review my post earlier today?

Hi there, glad to see your showing interest in Public Mobile. Its hard to find any better, Public is currently offering the best off Contract Month-to-Month Cell Phone Plans/Subscriptionsin Canada right now.
I can confirm that if your ZTE Device is Carrier Unlocked & Compatible with Physical or e-SIM than it will be compatible with and work Public Mobile Network here in Canada.
If you are traveling back and forth between Canada and the USA I'd recommend getting the $50 • 40GB Canada-US Plan. This Plan includes Roaming in the states without Travel Add-ons so it's very ideal, it converts to around $37USD Per Month, cheaper than most Pre Paid Month-to-Month Plan Prices available within the United States. (It will use T-Mobile for network connection when traveling to the states using the Canada-US Promotion Plan.)
You can get a SIM Card from Public Mobile's Website, Amazon, or Physical Locations that carry them like Mobile Klinik, or any of the Telus Corporate Stores will have them. Call to make sure they have them before going in.
Make sure you find someone's Friend Referral Code to use upon Activation so you can get the $10 Account Credit. 😉 -- You can find a Friend Referral Code to use off eBay, Reddit, Google, or ask someone from within The Community to share theirs with you in Private Messages.
