You mean you got the "welcome to the US" text? That just means you connected to a US tower temporarily. Unless you proactively purchased a US roaming add-on or a US plan, the service wouldn't work with the exception of incoming texts. As has been stated in this thread, it's a prepaid service and there's zero chance of surprise usage charges. The service either works or it doesn't.

All that being said, you're going to have to elaborate on your "I have charges" statement.

You CANNOT be charged by PM as it is pre-paid service so you either have it or not. NO extra charges...

I make that trip regularly. Once you get around Grand Forks, you'll get a message welcoming to US. Also up on the Nancy Green it'll happen. Just ignore all those nags.  It only last for a few seconds as you're driving anyhow. You will never get a surprise bill later on.

it won't charge US roaming unless you bought it, this is a Prepaid service, buy before you use

and change network to manual and pick Public Mobile so it won't connect to US network

@doughar , it is impossible to incur roaming charges with this service.  Everything is prepaid, so no surprise charges.

Public Mobile does not charge customers any pay-per-use charges.  Are you on a Public Mobile plan?
