I'm currently on the 28 dollar plan, bought a new phone and need to change my plan to the $40 plan, but am not sure how to. It won't let me do it through self-serve and I do need to buy a sim-card at Walmart.

@Musiclover18 From your description I think you are on a Legacy plan (pre Jan 27/15); originally $25 now $28. You cannot change your plan in self-serve because doing so will cancel your access to call centre support. So, you must call 611 and waiting on line until a rep answers. Be ready to tell him/her exactly which currently offered plan you want, and to authourize payment from your registered credit card.. You will not get any credit for unused time.

If you have an existing SIM then you should not need a new one. Just send a message to the moderators and they should be able to manually help you change your current plan to the desired plan you want. Here is the link to send a message to the mods:

@Musiclover18, do you have one of those old phones that don't have a SIM card? If so, you will need to get a SIM card.

I don't have a sim card right now, had this phone for 3 years and it doesn't let me change it, it says to call *611 and I don't think there is anyone I can talk to right? How do I get to customer service?

You should not need to buy a new SIM. Just move the SIM from your old phone to your new one.
Log in to selfserve and click on "Change Plan" and change to whatever you want.
