Hi,
I am on the 3G plan using a 3G phone and I will soon be buying a 4G or 5G phone. What do I need to do or have to use the 4G or 5G phone with Public Mobile?
1. Will my current 3G Public Mobile Sim work in the 4G or 5G phone or do I need a new Public Mobile Sim?
2. Do I need to switch to a 4G or 5G plan?
3. How will this affect my current plan/rewards?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
Regards,
Kev

Your plan is just max speed, not what network you can connect to. Even if you have a 3G plan, you can still connect to the 4G and 5G networks (with a compatible device).
There's nothing for you to do but put your sim card in your new device. I'm am curious when you say you only have a 3G phone though. What device are you using?

@Kev12 Your current sim should work in your new phone, just swap it from the old to new phone. You don't need to switch plans. Your rewards will stay the same (disregarding the upcoming change from rewards to points if you have been with PM long enough to be on the old system). Currently the 4G plans are new activations only so you would either stay on your current plan or pick a 5G one.

hi @Kev12
1. your new phone will use with the 3g plan
It can access 4g and 5g network without problem
2. you can keep your plan if you like. Yes, you can use the 4g 5g network just with speed capped at 3mbps because of your plan
3. not affected at all
enjoy your new phone
