How soon before my plan gets renewed do I have to change my plan so I dont get charged twice? A few months ago I changed my plan with about 2 weeks to go but I was charged full price for the new plan, even though my old one hadn't expired. My plan renews on the 29th and I want to change it before but need to maximize on my data before it gets reset.

Unless you run out of data well before your renewal, in which case you may want to start immediately, you can weigh that with getting a 1GB add on to supplement you until next renewal

Always use change plan on next renewal. You can schedule it even one day before renewal date and you will be charged whatever new plan is.
Last time you did change plan Now and yes - you have been charged whatever new plan cost was. And no refund and your renewal date get reset.

If you select "Change plan now"...you'll pay right away and your new plan is effective immediately. Your plan renewal will be 30 days from then.
If you select "Change on next renewal"...your current plan will run until next scheduled renewal, at which time your selected new plan will be effective. You won't pay until the new plan is applied to your account.
You have a choice which option you want.

@Dhizzlefrizzle there are 2 choices when you make the plan change and you have to click the correct one.
If you do not want to charge "twice" like last time, click "change on the next renewal date"
