I paid for a sim to be sent and the $45 dollar plan I paid via cc which I was charged for, but I never got a confirmation or email with info of arrival date.

This is one of the negative drawbacks of Public Mobile. Communication is extremely poor. If you just ordered the SIM card today, it could take up to 3-4 weeks before you get it. I would strongly advise you do one of two options to start using your account faster.
1. Call your local Telus stores and see if they happen to have a PM SIM card. Costs $10
2. If you have Amazon or know someone who does for fast shipping, AMAZON
Then register THAT card, and once you're set up, reach out to a CS Agent and ask to compensated for whatever the cost was that you ordered through them. They will give you a credit to your account.

it could be quick like around 5 days, or sometimes, it could be longer, much longer
So, I suggest you submit a ticket with agent and ask:

if you want to get it quicker, get one from Telus or Koodo store or Amazon and ask agent to reimburse the cost
