Thank you for this information!
Will I also have to buy the ships wifi package? Or is GigSky used on its own instead?
It is so much cheaper than the ship is charging for its Wifi packages!

For a Caribbean cruise, GigSky offers specialized eSIMs that provide data both on the ship and on land, a major advantage over other providers like Airalo and Yesim which typically lack onboard coverage. GigSky's "Cruise + Land" plans work in 48 Caribbean and Americas countries, making it the most convenient option if you need to stay connected both at sea and on shore. Alternatively, for land-only coverage, many other providers like Holafly, Maya Mobile, and aloSIM offer plans, but will not provide data while at sea.

cell service won't work on your cruise. If the ship provides wifi, you can use it to imessage kids. You can also use Whatsapp and have kids download Whatsapp and you can talk / text each other using local wifi on board.
