Hi. I am getting a message on my son's  phone that that he can't call number because he doesn't have a long distance plan, but it is a local call...Messaging and online working...

@Alanshar  That message is quite common and usually is fixed by putting a  1 in front but not always. Unless it really bothers your son just ignore it. They can come and go...ive gotten it a few times myself. Since all minutes are Canada wide you don't have to worry and it's probably a hold over from plans that used to have province wide calling( some still have those plans.) Funny I used to make sure I didn't have the 1 when I was with telus because I didn't want to accidentally call a long distance number and be charged $0.50 a minute. At pm you get 50 minutes for that price. Yes the $5/500 min is a steal and since it rolls over its great insurance for the $10 (only available til oct 7th ) and the $15 plans.

@Alanshar  if that's it just purchase the 5$  500 minute add on and he'll be able to keep making calls!  The 500 minutes will roll over every month until used up

If he's outta minutes, you can get the $5 / 500 minute Canada wide calling add-on to suppliment that plan. The 500 minutes roll over if not used by renewal. They could last for months ...or longer.

I will check my account...That could be it...Thanks...

Is he on the $10 or $15 plan with limited calling. Perhaps he's run outta calling minutes.

PS...he's in Canada...right ?

Tell him to ignore the message...dial a 1 ahead of area code. He won't be charged for long distance.
