Can't send text to only 1 number

I can receive texts from this number and can call the number   Using a Google Pixel 6

Thank you..yes it is default Google message app.  Tried all of those , still does not work.  Could it be on the receivers end?

that is an actual person number and not shortcode message?

Are you using the default Google Message app? 9r those third party app that can send SMS text as well, like WhatsApp, FB Message 

If you can receive text from him, can you just reply?

If issue persists try to delete all the conversation with this contact first.  Next, delete the actual contact of this person from your Address book.  Then Force close the message app, clear app cache for the message app.   Now try to message this person by manually put in 1 in front of the 10 digits and see if it works

@Dadofgirls  Are you putting 1 in front of this one number . Or possibly blocked this specific contact / number
