I'm trying to switch my plan to increase my data options. The plan I am trying to obtain is the same cost as my current plan. I want to activate a new plan now, but am being forced to pre-pay now. How do I activate the new plan and still pay at the renewal date?

Just to ensure you understand the future dating, if you choose to future date now, the plan is locked in for your renewal date. This is great if you want to make sure you get it because, Public Mobile likes to change plans on a whim!
if you haven’t already, go and select the plan, and then select the option for on my renewal to lock it in.
Couldn't figure out if this is what you did, or if you’re planning to do it on renewal day manually. FYI, locking in is the easier, and preferred method.

Thank you kindly for the quick response! I figured that was the case, but was wondering if a moderator had the ability to switch the plans, considering it was exactly the same price. Or, to pay for the new plan and pay pro-rata for the amount of the old plan already used. Good to know that the best option is to wait and renew. Thank you!

@FMW, the best you can do is to future date your plan change. If you have already paid for your current plan that is what you have until it expires to make any change mid plan you need to purchase a new plan and lose out on your current plan. That is how the prepaid service works. You paid for a plan and PM agrees to provide that plan for the duration. If you want to switch mid plan you will need to pay for that new plan.
