@AgnesGalea As others have mentioned Public does not normally allow you to port your number between accounts. But if you have already closed your old account less than 90 days you can activate the new account with a temporary number and then submit a ticket to Public Mobile and ask them if it would be possible to switch to your old number back
No guarantees, but worth a try.
To submit a ticket to the Moderator Team, please start a conversation with the Public's virtual assistant, SIMon by clicking the icon below:
If you are still having problems contacting Public Mobile then click here. The link sends you to the private message function and adds the moderator team as recipient for a private message. You just have to enter a title and text in the body of the message describing the problem and post. The message will be received by the moderator team and they will respond to it. You will receive the response in your private message inbox.
Please note that account verification may be required when contacting the Moderator Team

Was it originally pm/Koodo/telus number
You could check if it's assigned to somebody else but calling it.
If it's still free choose the town and keep toggling between that one and a random one until you get the same area code and first 3 numbers. Then you will be able to enter your old last 4 numbers.
If you brought it from another provider you won't be able to get it here, you would have to go to your old provider
Don't forget your friend's referral code
Welcome back to public mobile

Sorry @AgnesGalea PM doesn't allow porting between accounts. The only way this is possible is if you port your number away from PM and back in. Please note, porting your old number out closes the account. It would be easier to transfer ownership of the account attached to the old number. Why set up a new account? Why not change your plan from within your old account or if its been less than 90 days reactivate it. If more than 90 days, sorry your old account is closed, and your number gone. Thanks.

My old public mobile account is not active. I have a new sim card and will activate a new account. Can I use my old PM phone number?

More details would be helpful.
Is your old PM phone number active presently? Do you have an active PM account presently? Other information?
